Netherlands vs. Sweden - Football Match Report - July 3, 2019 - ESPN

Jackie Groenen scored in extra time to give the Netherlands a 1-0 win over Sweden at the Women's World Cup on Wednesday to set up a July 7 finals match with the United States.

The tight, defensive contest saw stellar play from both goalkeepers with the best chances coming early in the second half when Sweden defender Nilla Fischer hit the post and Dutch forward Vivianne Miedema had her header tipped on to the bar shortly afterwards as the regulation 90 minutes ended 0-0.

However, Groenen popped up in extra time and hit a sweet low line drive past Sweden keeper Hedvig Lindahl to give her team the win in the first extra time match in Women's World Cup history.

European champions the Netherlands' reward for the win is a first-ever finals appearance and a date with the defending champion U.S., who beat England 2-1 on Tuesday in the other semifinal, in Lyon.
