Arguably the best result in Inter’s short history, the all-olim team shocked league-leading Ruach Tel Aviv 4-0 away from home, breaking a bunch of records along the way.
Ruach had hitherto won all seven of its homes games this season, conceding just two goals in total and earning the team the league’s second-best defense after Inter Aliyah.
But much like when the teams met earlier this season, Inter proved its worth, soaking up Ruach’s first-half pressure and going into the break goalless.
In the second half, the visitors exploded out of the gate and the league leaders didn’t know how to respond. Vlad Kart grabbed the opener with a precise strike from outside the area, before Evyatar Erez doubled Inter’s lead.
As Ruach unsuccessfully tried to get a foot back in the game, the Inter counterattacks proved deadly, with both Yuval Levi and Oded Puzis getting in on the act. The win puts Inter five points adrift of the playoffs.
The following day, Inter’s B squad suffered the reverse fate in the International Football League of Israel, a 4-0 loss to Sudan. The Sudanese side scored twice in the first half, which seemed to devastate Inter. In the second half, Inter only managed to strike the Sudanese woodwork twice.
