Trump concludes UK trip, NBA Finals, 'Black Mirror' returns: 5 things to know Wednesday - USA TODAY

Trump concludes UK trip with D-Day commemoration

President Donald Trump will conclude his three-day visit to the United Kingdom with a commemorative ceremony honoring the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings on Wednesday. Trump will join Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles and hundreds of World War II veterans at Southsea Common in the city of Portsmouth, an important embarkation site in the massive operation. The somber ceremony will be in stark contrast to the angry reception Trump has received from protesters throughout his trip who flew a blimp dubbed "Trump Baby" near the Houses of Parliament. On Tuesday, Trump waded into domestic British politics by saying leaving the European Union was “good” for the country and praised the efforts of outgoing Prime Minister Theresa May in trying to ensure a smooth departure from the organization.

Cuba travel restrictions take effect

Americans basically can't cruise from the U.S. to Cuba anymore under a plan from the Trump administration that technically takes effect Wednesday. Technically, because passengers on cruise lines already set to stop in Cuba on Wednesday can go through with those trips, the government said. But the process going forward isn’t clear. Commercial airline flights appear to be unaffected and travel for university groups, academic research, journalism and professional meetings will continue to be allowed. Cruise travel from the U.S. to Cuba began in May 2016 as then-President Barack Obama eased sanctions against the communist island.

Sephora stores close for diversity training

The beauty products giant Sephora will close more than 400 stores Wednesday to host inclusion workshops for its employees. The move comes a little more than a month after singer SZA said in a series of tweets that she was racially profiled and stopped by security officers at a Sephora store in California. Sephora said in a statement that it "believes in championing all beauty," celebrating differences and "building a community where diversity is expected." Other retailers including Nike, Papa John’s and Starbucks instituted diversity training programs in the last year after incidents and accusations of wrongdoing.

NBA Finals heads to Oakland

The Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors take the NBA Finals to Oakland Wednesday after splitting the series a game apiece in Toronto. Warriors star Klay Thompson, who suffered a mild strain in his left hamstring that forced him out of Game 2, is listed as questionable. Meanwhile, Kyle Lowry, a five-time Eastern Conference All-Star and cornerstone of the Raptors, has been a non-factor on the grand stage. He shot 2-of-9 for just seven points in Game 1 and was 4-of-11 and fouled out in 27 minutes in Game 2. Even in defeat, Raptors' Kawhi Leonard has been dominant, scoring 34 points with 14 rebounds in Game 2. But everyone will be thinking — what will Drake do? Will he attend Game 3? The rapper and Toronto fan has been a thorn in the Warriors' side all series.

'Black Mirror' returns to terrify

Netflix’s unsettlingly scary sci-fi series “Black Mirror” returns Wednesday with more terrifying takes on the not-too-distant future. Promising three new stories featuring Miley Cyrus, “Avengers” star Anthony Mackie and Topher Grace, the series structure is more of a return to form after last year’s interactive “Bandersnatch” experience which had viewers dictate the action choose-your-own-adventure style. The new episodes will be available to stream on Netflix at midnight.
