NFL Week 6 2019 rooting guide - Bleeding Green Nation

The sixth Sunday of the 2019 NFL season has arrived. Here’s a Philadelphia Eagles focused rooting guide for all the games.

EAGLES GAME

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES at MINNESOTA VIKINGS: The Eagles will advance to 4-2 and pick up a potentially important head-to-head tie-breaker over the Vikings with a win. Beat the Vikings.

NFC EAST

DALLAS COWBOYS at NEW YORK JETS: You’d really just hate to see the Cowboys lose their third straight game and fall to 3-3. A Jets win would also help the Eagles’ common games and strength of victory tie-breakers. Unfortunately, like I said last week, there’s zero chance Dallas drops this game. Root for the Jets.

WASHINGTON at MIAMI DOLPHINS: Washington will still be 0-3 in the division and 0-4 in the conference if they win this game. Washington winning this matchup will only hurt their draft positioning and help Miami finish with a better pick. HTTR! Root against the Dolphins.

The New York Giants already lost to the New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football. The Giants are now 2-4.

NFC TEAMS

CAROLINA PANTHERS at TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS: The 3-2 Panthers are a bigger threat in the NFC than the 2-3 Bucs. Root for the Bucs.

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS at JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS: Easy call to root for the AFC team over the NFC team. The Saints will drop to 4-2 with a loss. Root for the Jags.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS at CLEVELAND BROWNS: Easy call to root for the AFC team over the NFC team. The Seahawks will drop to 4-2 with a loss. Root for the Browns.

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS at LOS ANGELES RAMS: If you feel like the 49ers aren’t for real, you’ll be rooting for them to beat the Rams. It sure wouldn’t be terrible to see Sean McVay fall to 3-3. But if the Eagles want to chase that No. 1 seed, they’ll need San Fran to lose at some point. Root for the Rams.

DETROIT LIONS at GREEN BAY PACKERS: The Lions have a head-to-head tie-breaker over the Eagles but that probably isn’t so important since Detroit has a tie in their record. Seeing the Packers drop to 4-2 while the Lions move to 3-1-1 is better than seeing the Packers move to 5-1 with Detroit going to 2-2-1. Root for the Lions.

DRAFT PICK WATCH

ATLANTA FALCONS at ARIZONA CARDINALS: The Eagles acquired the Falcons’ 2020 sixth-round pick and Duke Riley in exchange for Tampa Bay’s 2020 seventh-round pick and Johnathan Cyprien (who went on injured reserve this week). That Falcons pick will be a high sixth if Atlanta continues to struggle. Also don’t want the Falcons’ head-to-head tie-breaker over Philly coming into play in the NFC standings. Root for the Cardinals.

WHAT’S LEFT

HOUSTON TEXANS at KANSAS CITY CHIEFS: Would be nice if the Chiefs could prevent the Pats from getting the No. 1 seed in the AFC. Root for the Chiefs.

CINCINNATI BENGALS at BALTIMORE RAVENS: The Bengals have a chance to make sure Washington doesn’t get a better draft pick than them. Root for the Ravens.

TENNESSEE TITANS at DENVER BRONCOS: The Broncos losing gives them a chance to have a better draft pick than Washington. Denver losing should also make them more willing to be sellers prior to the NFL trade deadline. The Broncos have some pieces (Emmanuel Sanders, Chris Harris) that could be of interest to the Eagles. Root for the Titans.

PITTSBURGH STEELERS at LOS ANGLES CHARGERS: The Steelers don’t own their first-round pick due to the Minkah Fitzpatrick trade but that selection could end up higher than Washington’s pick if the Steelers keep losing. Root for the Chargers.

TEAMS ON BYE

Buffalo Bills, Chicago Bears, Indianapolis Colts, Oakland Raiders
