Danica Patrick has a few words for the Green Bay Packers: Thanks for the memories.
After the curtain closed on Green Bay’s Super Bowl 2020 dreams on Sunday, as the Packers fell to the 49ers in the NFC Championship game, Aaron Rodgers’ girlfriend penned a sweet message to the quarterback and his team.
“Proud. Beyond words,” Patrick began on Instagram. “Endings are always hard. But this season was still pretty amazing and we nearly had our bags packed for the Super Bowl. I will ever [sic] forget the good times we had.”
Patrick, 37, who has been dating Rodgers, 36, for nearly two years, also added a few words of encouragement following a 13-3 campaign in coach Matt LaFleur’s rookie season.
“Something tells me this is just the beginning of a good long run for the @packers,” Patrick wrote.
The former Super Bowl champ said postgame he would need some time to digest recent events.
“It’s a little raw right now,’’ Rodgers said. “It definitely hurts I’d say a little more than early in your career just because you realize just how difficult it is to get to this spot. Then you realize, ‘I don’t have the same number of years ahead of me as I do behind me,’ so it’s slightly more disappointing.”
Rodgers won the Super Bowl in 2011, but has lost in his last three NFC Championship appearances. He finished Sunday’s game completing 31 of 39 attempts for 326 yards with two touchdowns and a pair of interceptions.
