AROUND THE WEB:

-- Mets fans showed up by the tens to an Upper East Side restaurant on Tuesday to throw Tom Brady jerseys in beans to protest Brady trying to trademark Tom Seaver’s “Tom Terrific” nickname.

Not a ton of Mets fans made it out to Manhattan’s Sojourn Restaurant but two members of the 1969 team were in attendance to speak on behalf of Seaver.

Art Shamsky and Ed Kranepool wore Mets gear, including their championship rings, to talk about Seaver’s “Tom Terrific” legacy.

"Tom Seaver will always be known as 'Tom Terrific,'" Shamsky said. "He will always be the face of the Mets, and one of the greatest pitchers who ever pitched in the major leagues."

“Maybe it’s the new athlete,” Kranepool said. “Maybe it’s the ‘I’ generation, who can only think about himself. He’s the greatest quarterback who ever lived and I supported him over the years, and any time I’m rooting in football, I’m rooting for Tom Brady. But when you ask me about Tom Terrific and having played behind a guy like (Seaver), there’s only one guy who can be called Tom Terrific and that’s him. But when you’re first in line, I think there should only be one of any kind. (Brady) is the second model.”

Fans then threw Brady jerseys in the beans and then into a trash can. A Brady poster was also ripped and thrown into the garbage with the jerseys.

-- Meanwhile, Brady was busy sharing some advice with Baker Mayfield on Twitter.

After a video of Mayfield dancing to Lil Nas X’s Old Town Road with his ProCamp attendees was posted to Twitter, one Twitter user asked how many kids Mayfield could take if they “flipped” on him.

Mayfield said he could take over 50 of them.

And Brady had some strategic advice for Mayfield should he ever find himself in this situation.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: "Everything is good. Got great coaches, great players around. Definitely high standards out here. That’s what I’m used to as far as teams. It’s good to be out here and the opportunity to play with so many great players on  defense as far as Hightower and just everybody is just really good." -- Michael Bennett, on his first impressions of the Patriots
